Jalandhar, September 1: Satish Poonia, the National General Secretary of the BJP, has put an end to speculation regarding an alliance with the Akali Dal for the Punjab Assembly elections. He stated that the party will contest all seats independently and aims to form the government on its own.
During a media interaction in Jalandhar, Poonia emphasized that the BJP’s mission in Punjab is clear. He highlighted the party’s organizational strength, ideology, and the blessings of the public as key factors in their effort to establish a robust government in the state.
The BJP is set to launch a significant campaign called the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ on September 17, which will conclude on October 17. This month-long initiative will showcase how Prime Minister Modi‘s schemes have transformed the lives of common people. Notably, October 7 marks the completion of 25 years of PM Modi’s public service.
Responding to allegations made by the Aam Aadmi Party, Poonia remarked that he believes the AAP is a politically directionless party. After ruling Delhi for an extended period, they lost power. He criticized the AAP for their unfulfilled promises regarding issues like drugs, corruption, and law and order in Punjab, suggesting that their statements stem from desperation. The BJP is working towards achieving the goal of a double-engine government.
The political landscape intensified when three BJP MPs from Delhi visited to pay respects following the death of former Congress MP Sajjan Singh. Poonia mentioned that these MPs received a reprimand from the party’s National President, Nitin Naveen.
He also stated that the Congress party is directly responsible for the 1984 incidents. The BJP has been active in rehabilitating those affected by the 1984 riots in Delhi and Haryana, and the party’s National President has addressed the MPs who attended the funeral.
