Hong Kong Celebrates National Day with Flag-Raising Ceremony

Hong Kong, October 1 (Daily Kiran) : The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region celebrated the 77th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China on October 1 with a flag-raising ceremony. The event took place at Golden Bauhinia Square at 8 a.m.

Attendees included Liang Chanying, Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu, and various prominent figures from different sectors in Hong Kong.

Following the ceremony, guests moved to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre for a National Day reception. During the event, Chief Executive Lee highlighted the significance of this National Day, marking it as the first since the launch of Hong Kong’s inaugural five-year plan.

He emphasized that China has emerged as the world’s largest manufacturing and trading nation, exerting considerable influence in international affairs. Lee noted that the five-year plan for Hong Kong is not merely a set of policies but a strategic initiative grounded in the “one country, two systems” principle.

He urged Hong Kong to seize current opportunities and actively participate in national development, ensuring that residents benefit from progress in the region.
