Lucknow, September 8 (Daily Kiran) : Leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have launched a strong critique of Akhilesh Yadav, the head of the Samajwadi Party (SP), following his decision to wear a blue scarf and alter the dress code for the party’s student wing. Rakesh Tripathi, a prominent BJP leader, stated that the public associates the SP with the color red and feels threatened by it. He emphasized that changing colors will not erase the party’s past misdeeds.
In an interview, Tripathi remarked that the people of Uttar Pradesh have not forgotten the SP’s governance, which was marked by serious issues such as atrocities against Dalits and crimes against women. He insisted that no matter how much the party tries to change its image, the public is well aware of its true nature.
Tripathi further alleged that the SP disrespected Sanatan values during its rule. He pointed out that while the party is transitioning from red to blue, the public is not fooled by this change. He criticized the dominance of family politics within the SP, claiming that the party’s direction is overly focused on Akhilesh Yadav and his wife, Dimple Yadav.
As the 2027 assembly elections approach, he likened the SP’s strategy to a chameleon changing colors, asserting that the party cannot hide its political agenda from the electorate.
In response to AI-generated videos released by the SP, Tripathi claimed that the party lacks the courage to engage directly with the public and resorts to technology for support. He noted that while the SP continuously targets Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the electorate is observant and will respond accordingly in the upcoming elections.
BJP leader Dinesh Pratap Singh added that merely donning blue clothing does not equate to honoring Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s principles. He stressed that true respect for Baba Saheb comes from adopting his ideas and implementing meaningful changes in behavior.
Singh also recalled the SP’s controversial decisions during its tenure, such as the construction of walls around cemeteries and the shooting of karsevaks. He advised Akhilesh Yadav to visit Ayodhya and pay respects at the Ram Temple before discussing Sanatan values.
Rahul Valmiki, another BJP leader, asserted that the SP has given up hope of returning to power in 2027, leading it to adopt various tactics to regain public favor. He claimed that the Dalit community has recognized the party’s alleged mentality.
In a related development, Minister Surya Pratap Shahi announced that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has increased the monthly honorarium for Anganwadi workers from ₹8,000 to ₹12,000, and for assistants from ₹6,000 to ₹8,000.
