U.S. Imposes Sanctions on Pakistani Firms Linked to Irans Defense Ministry

New Delhi, October 1 (Daily Kiran) : The United States has imposed sanctions on ten individuals and companies from various countries, accusing them of assisting Iran’s Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics (MODAFL) in acquiring weapons and military equipment. Reports indicate that Pakistani firms are among those targeted.

According to an analysis by The Media Line, the sanctions include a Pakistani businessman and three companies associated with him. This businessman is identified as the chairman of the Cavalier Group, a private defense company operating in Pakistan and other countries.

The U.S. alleges that this individual and his company acted as intermediaries for the Iranian defense ministry, facilitating arms transactions. The report states that he is the principal shareholder and chief executive of Cavalier Dynamics Private Limited in Pakistan, and he is also linked to Saudi and Turkish firms that have been sanctioned.

It has been claimed that Saudi Arabia’s Cavalier Dynamics for Technologies assisted in the U.S. actions against these entities. The U.S. asserts that the businessman provided financial, material, and technical support to MODAFL or attempted to do so. MODAFL is responsible for research, production, and procurement of weapons for Iran’s armed forces.

The U.S. government is closely monitoring organizations involved in Iran’s ballistic missile and drone programs. Treasury Secretary Scott Beasley stated that Washington will continue to target individuals and entities that provide assistance to Iran. This effort falls under “Operation Economic Outcast,” initiated in August to disrupt the Iranian government’s economic network.

The Treasury Department aims to cut off revenue sources used by Iran to evade sanctions, fund militant activities, and sustain its defense programs. Entities involved in sanctions evasion or money laundering face risks of being excluded from the U.S. financial system and secondary sanctions.

Cavalier Group positions itself as a leading private sector defense company in Pakistan. However, the company has not publicly responded to the U.S. allegations.
