
Patna, June 6: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its candidates for the 2026 Bihar Legislative Council biannual elections. The party’s central election committee has approved four names: Pawan Singh, Dr. Sanjay Mayukh, Anil Kumar Thakur, and Sheila Pandit. Sheila Pandit expressed her gratitude for the trust placed in her by the party leadership. She stated her commitment to meeting the party’s expectations and prioritizing public service.
Pandit thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the national BJP leadership, Bihar BJP President, former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and all senior party leaders for their support. She expressed heartfelt thanks for the significant responsibility entrusted to her.
Discussing her priorities upon entering the Legislative Council, she emphasized her main goal of ensuring that the welfare schemes initiated by the central government under Prime Minister Modi reach the last person in society. She reiterated her commitment to working tirelessly to deliver the benefits of development and welfare programs to those at the bottom of the socio-economic ladder, in line with the BJP’s principle of Antyodaya.
Sheila Pandit also mentioned her focus on making special efforts to ensure that various schemes from both the central and Bihar governments reach every needy individual. She highlighted the importance of effectively reaching ongoing initiatives aimed at uplifting women, youth, farmers, and the impoverished.
Claiming that Bihar is progressing rapidly towards development, she stressed the need to strengthen this momentum in the future. Pandit expressed confidence that Bihar would play a crucial role in realizing Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047.
