
Ayodhya, June 26: In a significant development in the Ram Temple donation theft case, police presented all eight arrested suspects in court. Initial investigations have revealed solid evidence against the accused. According to police sources, CCTV footage clearly shows the suspects stealing cash and jewelry donations. The investigation report and judicial remand note detail the theft of donations, incidents captured on CCTV, irregularities, responsibilities of individuals involved, and other evidence.
It has also been reported that the accused were taking cash and jewelry from the temple. Notable names among them include Tinnu, Anukalp, Avinash, Karunesh, Manish Yadav, Lavkush, and Rama Shankar Mishra.
Sources indicate that the investigating officer informed the court that approximately ₹79.84 lakhs have been recovered from seven of the accused. This recovery was made based on their disclosures. However, the eighth suspect, Subhash Srivastava, has not yielded any recovery and is considered part of the conspiracy. Tinnu was responsible for keeping the keys to the cash counter, donation box, and the hall where notes were counted.
Anukalp Mishra faces allegations of tampering with the voucher creation process and colluding with his brother-in-law, Lavkush Mishra, to commit fraud. Police have recovered around ₹10 lakhs from Lavkush Mishra’s residence.
The investigation has also revealed that several suspects were assigned to the note counting task based on recommendations, and searches were not conducted after their shifts ended.
The police have filed an FIR regarding the donation theft at the Ram Temple, leading to the arrest of eight individuals. Additionally, two officials associated with the temple have resigned.
