Jaipur, 1 September (Kiran News). The Special Court for CBI Cases (Bench-3, Metropolitan First) has refused to grant relief to former RPSC member Babulal Katara in connection with the Teacher Recruitment-2022 paper leak case registered at Sukher police station, Udaipur. The court has dismissed Katara’s bail application.

Court

Presiding officer Khagendra Kumar Sharma, in his order, stated that the accused faces serious allegations of repeating the same type of crime while holding a constitutional post. Therefore, he cannot be released on bail.

In the bail application, it was argued that Katara has been falsely implicated and has been in jail for a long time. The investigating agency has completed the probe and filed the chargesheet against him. Thus, no further investigation or recovery is pending from him. It was also mentioned that his family is facing great hardship due to his continued imprisonment and, hence, he should be released on bail.

Opposing the plea, Special Public Prosecutor Bhanwar Singh Chauhan said that Katara was a main participant in leaking the teacher recruitment examination paper. He was a member of the prestigious Rajasthan Public Service Commission and was entrusted with preparing the examination paper. The prosecution argued that sufficient evidence exists against the accused, who also faces three other cases. Therefore, bail should not be granted.

After hearing both sides, the court rejected the bail plea.

It is notable that in the Sukher police station area, leaked papers were being solved by several candidates in a hotel. After investigation, police registered a case against Babulal Katara and others.
