Auto Driver Kills Wife and Commits Suicide in Bengaluru Domestic Dispute

Bengaluru, September 9 (Daily Kiran) : In a tragic incident in Bengaluru, a 38-year-old auto-rickshaw driver allegedly killed his wife before taking his own life. The event occurred late Tuesday night in their home located in the Vibhutipura area, according to local police.

The deceased have been identified as Raghavendra and his 30-year-old wife, Shruti. Authorities suspect that a family dispute triggered this horrifying act. Reports indicate that Raghavendra attacked Shruti with a beer bottle before fatally stabbing her in the abdomen. Following the attack, he reportedly hanged himself inside their home. At the time of the incident, the couple’s two children were staying with their grandparents in Davangere, just outside Bengaluru.

Initial investigations suggest that the couple often argued over Shruti’s habit of watching reels on her mobile phone. Police believe that Raghavendra discovered his wife watching videos that night, which escalated into a heated argument.

While the couple’s disagreements over her phone usage have been cited as a potential cause, police have stated that the true circumstances behind the tragedy remain unclear. Following the incident, authorities arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation. The bodies have been sent for legal proceedings, and a case has been filed.

Reports reveal that Raghavendra and Shruti fell in love while studying together nearly 18 years ago and later married with their families’ blessings. After their wedding, they moved from Davangere to Bengaluru, where they purchased a home in Vibhutipura. Shruti was employed at a nearby apartment complex. The police are currently piecing together the sequence of events leading to the couple’s deaths.
