
Ranchi, June 18: The police have intensified their investigation into the petrol bomb attack on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) provincial office located in Nivaranpur, Ranchi. So far, four individuals have been detained, including the driver of the vehicle used in the incident and two attackers.
Authorities are interrogating them to uncover the conspiracy behind the attack, which occurred during the night between Tuesday and Wednesday. The incident was captured on CCTV. The assailants arrived in a rented car. Initially, the police detained the car’s driver. Subsequently, two attackers were apprehended at a railway station in Bihar while attempting to flee to Delhi.
Under the direction of Jharkhand’s DGP Tadasha Mishra, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to probe the incident. The team has conducted raids in various areas of the city based on CCTV footage, technical evidence, and other information.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, a team from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) also inspected the site. Sources indicate that initial inquiries have yielded significant information, prompting an expansion of the investigation’s scope. The police are working to determine the roles of those involved and whether there was an organized plan behind the attack.
CCTV footage shows two young men throwing petrol bombs at the RSS office premises. One bomb exploded near the premises, while the other failed to detonate. Teams from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and dog squad have also examined the scene.
In light of the incident, police surveillance around the RSS office and its vicinity has been heightened. Officials have stated that detailed information regarding the case will be shared once the investigation is complete.
