Guwahati, February 16: The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has abruptly canceled the results of the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024, which were uploaded to the official website on Monday. This unexpected decision has raised concerns among candidates eagerly awaiting their results.
The APSC cited an unforeseen error as the reason for the cancellation. An official notification stated that the results uploaded on February 16, 2026, have been revoked with immediate effect. However, the commission did not specify the nature of the issue.
The notification also assured candidates that a new list would be uploaded soon after a thorough re-evaluation of the results. Signed by the Principal Controller of Examinations, the notification read, “The results for the Combined Competitive Examination-2024 are hereby canceled with immediate effect. The commission will upload a new selection list shortly after careful review.”
This sudden decision has caused anxiety and confusion among thousands of candidates who were eagerly anticipating the results of this prestigious examination. Many candidates have expressed dissatisfaction over the lack of clarity and transparency regarding the cancellation.
This incident is considered significant in the history of APSC examinations, as officially published results are rarely retracted. Candidates and civil society groups are demanding greater accountability and timely clarity from the commission.
The commission has yet to provide additional information, stating that the matter is under review. The announcement of revised results will occur once the verification process is complete.
The Combined Competitive Examination is one of the most crucial recruitment exams in Assam, conducted to fill vacancies in various administrative and allied services. Any delays or uncertainties directly impact the futures of thousands of candidates who have prepared for years to pass this examination.
