Indian Community Celebrates Emotional Moments with PM Modi in Paris

Paris, June 18: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Paris as part of his final leg of the European tour. His presence has sparked joy among the Indian community in the city. During his visit, PM Modi engaged in conversations with community members, many of whom described the occasion as a proud and memorable moment. They expressed that despite being thousands of miles away, the Prime Minister’s presence made them feel connected to their homeland.

Numerous members of the Indian community gathered to welcome the Prime Minister and shared their experiences and emotions after their interactions. One community member noted that this was the third time he had met PM Modi since arriving in France in 2023, stating, “I feel very proud.”

He added, “There is a strong bond and friendship between India and France. I am excited and honored to meet him again.”

Another community member, originally from Coimbatore and now doing business in Paris, described the meeting as a moment of pride, saying, “I am of Indian origin and currently reside in Paris. Meeting PM Modi is a matter of great pride.”

A tourist visiting Paris remarked that the Prime Minister’s presence deeply moved the Indians living and traveling in France. He shared with the news agency, “We are all very emotional. The Indians present here are thrilled about his visit. PM Modi has completed 12 years in office, and I believe Indians would like to see him continue to lead the country to greater heights.”

Another community member expressed, “Meeting PM Modi has made me very emotional. It feels like a family member has come to visit us. I am particularly happy about the growing partnership between India and France, which is creating opportunities and platforms for Indian innovators.”

A student residing in Paris said, “I am very happy to meet PM Modi. I came here as a student. Due to the strong relations between India and France, Indian students receive a two-year work permit, which is a significant opportunity. I feel honored to be an Indian citizen and to meet the Prime Minister.”

Members of Indian cultural groups in France also participated in the welcoming ceremony for PM Modi. Rahis Bharti, director of the renowned cultural troupe Dhoad Gypsies from Rajasthan, expressed his joy. He stated, “Today is a very special day for all of us. We are honored to be part of PM Modi’s welcoming ceremony. Our entire Dhoad group is present here, and the Indian Embassy has invited us to perform at the Prime Minister’s event tomorrow.”

Afraidi, a member of the Dhoad group, shared that performing in front of the Prime Minister was a moment of pride for them. He said, “When PM Modi arrived, it felt like a family member had come to visit. Performing in front of him is a matter of great pride for us. Our Jaipur Maharaja Band presented the patriotic song ‘Ae Watan,’ making the moment even more memorable.”

After completing a series of meetings at the G-7 summit in Evian, PM Modi arrived in Paris on Thursday morning, where he received a warm welcome from the Indian community. He expressed pride in the community’s contribution to strengthening IndiaFrance relations.

He stated that the partnership between India and France is crucial for global progress. On social media platform X, he wrote, “I just arrived in Paris, where the Indian community warmly welcomed me. I take pride in their efforts to bring India and France closer. The India-France partnership is extremely important for the progress of our planet.”
