Lucknow, June 18: Political tensions have escalated in Uttar Pradesh following Om Prakash Rajbhar’s claims regarding a split within the Samajwadi Party (SP). SP leaders have firmly denied these allegations, with some responding that there is no remedy for madness.
SP MP Avadhesh Prasad commented on Rajbhar’s statements, saying, “If someone goes mad, there is no cure for it. If anyone has a solution for madness, it lies with the public. When someone talks about madness, there is neither a leash nor a treatment for it.”
Another SP MP, Neeraj Kushwaha Maurya, expressed that Rajbhar is worried about his political future. He stated, “I believe Om Prakash Rajbhar, who was once elected from the Samajwadi Party, is now concerned about his political prospects. In the upcoming elections, he may face a significant defeat in his current constituency. This is why he is making such baseless statements.”
Kushwaha also mentioned that Rajbhar should have shared the letter he referred to on social media. He added, “None of this makes any sense. These individuals are preoccupied with their futures. I also believe that no one takes them seriously.”
Meanwhile, SP spokesperson Ashutosh Verma remarked, “Every morning, OP Rajbhar tweets, and in the evening, Keshav Prasad Maurya tweets. You can understand the strategy behind this. The BJP has brought forward leaders from the PDA community to counter the PDA. First Rajbhar, then Maurya, and soon Nishad may appear, followed by Anupriya Patel. However, no Thakur, Brahmin, or upper-caste leader from the BJP will make such statements because they know the strategy is to divide and rule among the backward classes.”
Verma further stated, “To break away 37 MPs, a two-thirds majority (25 MPs) is required.” He responded to Keshav Prasad Maurya’s claims, saying, “You, as a senior leader, could not secure the chief minister’s position and remained a minister. Yet, we respect you greatly. You are a member of our PDA family, so do not fall for the BJP’s tactics.”
In a rebuttal regarding the alleged split in the SP, he noted, “Dara Singh Chauhan, Dharm Singh Saini, Swami Prasad Maurya, and Om Prakash Rajbhar were your (BJP) cabinet ministers. 15 other MLAs joined the Samajwadi Party while the BJP was in power before the 2022 assembly elections. We welcomed all of them. At least 50 of your (BJP) MLAs are in contact with the Samajwadi Party; save them. The Samajwadi Party welcomes everyone.”
