Ashok Gehlot Criticizes BJP Amid AAPs Political Setback

Jaipur, April 24: Political tensions are escalating as the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) faces a significant setback. Seven MPs, including Raghav Chadha, have left the party, prompting a sharp response from Ashok Gehlot, former Chief Minister of Rajasthan and Congress leader.

Gehlot accused the BJP of engaging in political maneuvers that are not new, asserting that the party will never change. He recalled similar situations during his tenure when attempts were made to destabilize the government. Gehlot noted that at that time, his government had to remain in a hotel for over a month due to political instability.

He pointed out that while BJP leaders often mention how the Congress government was confined to a hotel, they fail to explain the reasons behind it. According to him, the BJP’s top leadership, particularly Amit Shah, faced allegations of attempting to topple the government through horse-trading. He also mentioned that during that period, Sachin Pilot and some legislators had gone to Manesar, deepening the political crisis.

Gehlot alleged that the BJP has also harassed leaders and MPs associated with the AAP. Citing Raghav Chadha, he claimed that the central government has taken several actions against him, and many leaders’ names have been dragged into an alleged liquor scam. He sarcastically remarked that once individuals join the BJP, all accusations seem to vanish.

Responding to the over 91% voter turnout in West Bengal, Gehlot emphasized the need to investigate how such high participation was achieved. He accused the Election Commission of manipulating the voter list in their favor, suggesting that names were removed through a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. However, he acknowledged that the true beneficiaries would only be clear after the election results are announced.

Gehlot also targeted the state government regarding threats to bomb the Rajasthan Assembly. He stated, “There have been multiple threats to the High Court, SMS Stadium, and other significant buildings in the state. Even the Chief Minister received death threats. This clearly indicates a deterioration in law and order.” He questioned how, in this technological age, the police have yet to identify those behind these threats.
