Bengal BJP Chief Warns Members Against Corruption Allegations

Kolkata, August 26: The President of the West Bengal Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rajya Sabha MP, Samik Bhattacharya, issued a stern warning to party leaders and workers via various organizational WhatsApp groups on Tuesday. He emphasized that any proven allegations of corruption against them would lead to disciplinary action.

In a message written in Bengali, Bhattacharya reminded party members of the BJP’s “zero-tolerance” stance on corruption.

The message began with, “To all BJP workers and officials at the state, district, regional, mandal, and booth levels, remember that honesty, transparency, and ideology are the core strengths of the BJP.”

He further stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “zero-tolerance policy” and commitment to serving the nation form the foundation of the party’s operations.

The message highlighted, “Recently, I have received information about various inappropriate activities and irregularities among party workers at different levels through letters and messages. This applies to every member: if anyone engages in unethical or corrupt practices contrary to party policy, the party will not take responsibility for their actions.”

Bhattacharya clearly stated that if any evidence of corruption or wrongdoing is found, the party leadership would take strict disciplinary action against leaders or workers at any level.

He cautioned, “Be very careful that your actions for personal gain do not tarnish the party’s image or the sacrifices made by our workers over the years. Always remember that public service is our sole objective, and maintaining the trust of the common people with complete transparency is the responsibility of every party official. Let us all work together to uphold the party’s honor with integrity and loyalty.”

This is not the first time Bhattacharya has issued such a warning. However, it is the first time he has provided instructions to party workers and leaders at all levels through a WhatsApp message.

Previously, West Bengal’s Leader of the Opposition, Suvendu Adhikari, and the state’s Minister for Municipal Affairs and Urban Development, Agnimitra Paul, had also issued similar warnings.
