Rajasthan BJP Chief Praises One State, One Election Initiative for Local Bodies

Jaipur, August 26: Madan Rathore, the state president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rajya Sabha MP, commended Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma’s initiative to conduct local body and Panchayati Raj elections under the ‘One State, One Election’ concept on Tuesday.

Rathore emphasized that frequent elections increase costs and disrupt administrative functions, which slows down development and public welfare. He noted that continuous elections keep the government and administrative machinery entangled in electoral tasks. Additionally, the imposition of the model code of conduct often halts development projects, causing inconvenience and losses to the public.

While launching a guidebook prepared by the party’s legal cell for the upcoming local body elections at the BJP state headquarters in Jaipur, Rathore described elections as a celebration of democracy. He stated that it is the responsibility of every BJP worker to uphold democratic values and diligently fulfill their duties during Panchayat, Assembly, or parliamentary elections.

He stressed that in a democracy, voters hold the highest authority, and political workers must ensure that voters are informed with accurate facts while also countering misinformation spread by the opposition.

Rathore highlighted the BJP’s focus on training young workers and encouraging greater youth participation in politics. According to him, the party provides opportunities for young activists to gain experience, receive training, and ultimately become dedicated representatives for public service.

He mentioned that the BJP’s priority is to ensure that the next generation progresses under the guidance of senior leaders and dedicates themselves to public service.

Expressing enthusiasm among BJP workers ahead of the local body elections, Rathore noted significant participation from youth and women. He attributed this positive response to the welfare schemes of the BJP-led ‘double-engine government’ and the strength of the party’s organizational network.

Several senior leaders from the party were present during the guidebook launch, including BJP National General Secretary Harish Dwivedi, State General Secretary (Organization) Ajay Kumar, State General Secretary Shrawan Singh Bagdi, Legal Cell State Coordinator Saurabh Saraswat, Co-Coordinator Bhavani Singh Rajawat, Media In-Charge Pramod Vashisth, and Social Media Coordinator Hirenra Kaushik.
