Arjun Ram Meghwal Defends Election Chief Amid Rahul Gandhis Allegations

Bikaner, October 4 (Daily Kiran) : Central Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal has strongly countered allegations against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Speaking to reporters in Bikaner, Meghwal asserted that the CEC has clarified all issues at hand. He accused Gandhi of habitually tarnishing the reputation of India’s constitutional institutions, which are performing commendably.

Meghwal emphasized that the accusations stem from political motives, stating, “Rahul Gandhi has made a habit of defaming our well-functioning constitutional bodies. He has no real purpose or genuine issues to address.” He pointed out that the Election Commission‘s inquiries regarding the purification of the voter list have gone unanswered by the opposition.

“The CEC raised questions about whether deceased voters should remain on the voter list. They also asked if individuals who have moved elsewhere should stay listed, yet the opposition provides no answers. Their pattern has become one of making accusations, spreading falsehoods, and evading accountability,” Meghwal added.

The opposition has consistently accused the Election Commission of irregularities in the voter list and electoral fraud. However, the Commission has stated it aims to remove the names of deceased and relocated voters through a Special Intensive Review (SIR) process.

In addition to addressing the allegations, Meghwal discussed organizational matters, revealing that new in-charges for their division have been appointed. They will conduct initial meetings to identify strong candidates on the ground. “Our organization is robust. Names will come from our division in-charges and committee heads, after which we will deliberate,” he noted.
