Humayun Kabir Criticizes Bengal CM Suvendu Adhikari for Deceiving Voters

Murshidabad, October 4 (Daily Kiran) : Humayun Kabir, the leader of the Aam Janata Uthan Party (AJUP), has launched a scathing attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, accusing him of deceiving the public. Speaking in Murshidabad, Kabir asserted that the Chief Minister is misleading citizens with false promises.

Kabir criticized Adhikari’s recent appeal to Muslim voters in Rejinagar, questioning the government’s achievements since it took office. “It’s been five and a half months since the government was formed, yet in the assembly near Rejinagar, where the BJP won, what model has been developed?” he asked. He pointed out that while the BJP previously held only two seats in West Bengal, it has now expanded to 208 seats, forming the government.

“The Chief Minister is giving false assurances to the people that Rejinagar will become a model assembly constituency following the BJP’s victory,” Kabir stated. He emphasized that Adhikari should not mislead the public and should instead focus on effectively governing the state. “If the people have supported him, does that mean he can deceive them?” Kabir questioned.

Responding to discussions about meeting with the BJP’s central leadership, Kabir clarified, “I never said I would join their party or bow to them. I merely mentioned that after the 2026 West Bengal assembly elections, the Election Commission should ensure peaceful voting.” He noted that the BJP, which previously held 65 seats, has now increased its representation significantly.

Kabir also condemned what he described as oppression by Suvendu Adhikari against the common people of Bengal. “I want to ask if instilling fear and attacking people is part of the BJP’s ideology?” he remarked. He recounted incidents during the by-elections when around 50 of his party workers were reportedly taken away on the day elections were announced.

He concluded with a warning that the current government in West Bengal would eventually lose the people’s trust and ultimately fall.
