Nishant Kumar Backs Neeraj Kumar for Patna Graduate Seat in Bihar Elections

Patna, October 4 (Daily Kiran) : Amid the political turmoil surrounding the Bihar Legislative Council elections, a significant development has emerged in Patna. Nishant Kumar, the son of former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and a minister in the Bihar government, has openly endorsed Neeraj Kumar as the official NDA candidate for the Patna graduate seat. He has urged voters to support Kumar with a substantial majority.

On Sunday, ahead of the nominations scheduled for Monday at the JD(U) office in Patna, a meeting was convened for party leaders and workers, particularly those connected to the Patna graduate and teacher constituencies. Following the meeting, Nishant Kumar clarified the party’s stance in favor of Neeraj Kumar during a media interaction.

“I appeal to all my graduate and teacher voters in Bihar and Patna district to cast their votes for our NDA candidate with a heavy mandate. Neeraj has been associated with the party since the era of Samata. He is a socialist and has been an active party worker, consistently committed to our ideology. I urge everyone to vote for Neeraj with a significant margin,” he stated.

Nishant Kumar described Neeraj Kumar as an experienced leader, pointing out that he has previously served as a member of the Legislative Council and held ministerial positions. He emphasized that voting for Neeraj Kumar signifies a continuation of the developmental work initiated by Nitish Kumar over the past two decades under the leadership of Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary. He called upon party workers to rally their efforts for the victory of NDA’s official candidates across all seats.

In a contrasting political landscape, JD(U) MLA Anant Singh has been actively campaigning against Neeraj Kumar, supporting Anuj Singh of Jan Suraj for the Patna graduate seat. Nishant’s public support for Neeraj is viewed as a signal of the JD(U) leadership’s stance on Anant Singh’s position. Neeraj Kumar has already met with former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who personally handed him the letter designating him as the party’s official candidate.

Umesh Kushwaha, the state president of JD(U), also addressed the media, dismissing Anant Singh’s stance as misguided and asserting that the party leadership is closely monitoring the situation. The ongoing statements have intensified political discussions regarding the potential stance of the party towards Anant Singh, while Nishant Kumar’s support has invigorated Neeraj Kumar’s supporters.
