Amit Shah Launches NAFED Auction Portal to Benefit Farmers Directly

New Delhi, June 23: Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah has launched the auction portal of the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED) at nafex.in. During the launch, he stated that NAFED has initiated four key initiatives: Nafex.in, Drishti, ERP, and NAFED Kalyan.

He highlighted that NAFED, which was on the verge of closure in 2014, is now supporting 7.4 million farmers with a profit of ₹500 crore and a turnover of ₹30,000 crore. Back in 2014, NAFED faced a severe financial crisis. Following a meeting with Prime Minister Modi, the Indian government provided financial assistance, allowing NAFED to regain its strength.

Amit Shah recalled that he was the party president at that time and understood the depth of NAFED’s crisis. He assured that in the coming two years, the Ministry of Cooperation will ensure that pulses are sourced directly from farmers, eliminating middlemen. This will enable farmers to reap direct profits. He emphasized that as soon as the prices of pulses reach farmers, the cultivation area will expand, leading the country towards self-sufficiency in pulses.

He mentioned that infrastructure for direct procurement from farmers has been established and now needs to be effectively implemented. Shah stressed that NAFED must operate with integrity and determination to achieve results.

While paying tribute to Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, he noted that June 23 holds significant importance for many BJP workers, as it marks the day Mukherjee sacrificed his life for the principles of one constitution, one symbol, and one leader, uniting the nation. Mukherjee was a prominent leader who did not seek fame but worked for the long-term benefit of the country, fighting for its integrity throughout his life.
