EOW Raids Properties of MP Public Works Department Engineer

Bhopal, September 3: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has conducted simultaneous raids on the properties of Kamal Kishore Singare, the Executive Engineer in charge of the Public Works Department in Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh. The raids targeted his residence in Balaghat and other locations, revealing assets disproportionate to his known income.

According to reports, complaints were lodged against the Executive Engineer regarding the misuse of his position and accumulation of wealth beyond his legitimate earnings. Following the verification of these complaints, the EOW initiated the raids at Singare’s Balaghat residence, as well as at properties in Chhindwara and Bhopal.

The Civil Contractors Association had previously raised concerns with the department and administration about the Executive Engineer, but no action was taken. Subsequently, an official from the association escalated the matter to the EOW.

Based on the complaints, the EOW has launched investigations at three locations simultaneously. During these raids, cash and vehicles were seized. The complaint stated that the Executive Engineer was allegedly demanding a commission of ₹10 lakh in exchange for a payment of ₹30 lakh from a contractor. This allegation has now put Singare in a precarious situation.

As of now, the EOW’s actions are ongoing at all three locations, and further disclosures will determine the veracity of the complaints against the Executive Engineer and the extent of his undisclosed assets.
