New Delhi, July 1: Preparations for the Shri Amarnath Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir are nearly complete. On Wednesday, the registration and RFID card issuance process for pilgrims commenced on-site in Jammu. On Friday, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, will flag off the first batch of pilgrims.
A large number of devotees were seen queuing in Jammu to register and obtain their RFID cards. There is immense enthusiasm among the pilgrims for the Amarnath Yatra. One pilgrim expressed his excitement, stating, “I am very thrilled. I didn’t expect to be part of the first batch. I have been trying for a long time.”
Devotees praised the arrangements made for the Amarnath Yatra. One pilgrim mentioned, “I went on the pilgrimage last time as well. I am going again this time. The arrangements seem very good.”
Another pilgrim, who is part of the third batch, shared, “This is my third time going on the pilgrimage. All facilities are good. However, there is some inconvenience with the registration and RFID card process. Once that is done, it brings a lot of peace and confidence that we will be able to have darshan of Baba.”
Meanwhile, ahead of the departure of the first batch, a significant number of devotees are arriving at the transit camps in Srinagar. One pilgrim said, “I am very happy. I am going there for the first time.”
A female pilgrim shared, “I have come with faith in Baba Bholenath. He has called us, and He will grant us darshan.” She also mentioned that it is her first time on the Amarnath Yatra and praised the arrangements made by the administration. “We arrived at the transit camp on Wednesday night. The arrangements here are good. There is no shortage of anything,” she noted.
The Amarnath Yatra is set to begin on July 3 and will conclude on August 28. The route from Pahalgam to the temple takes approximately four days, while the shorter route from Baltal allows for same-day return after darshan.
