Mumbai, July 11: Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Jaiveer Singh has responded to recent statements made by Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav. Singh addressed various issues, including allegations of Dalit oppression, protests regarding BJP’s by-election tickets, and the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He criticized the opposition, claiming that the BJP is moving forward with public trust, while the opposition is limited to mere statements and social media politics.
Regarding Akhilesh Yadav’s remark that “Sanatan is socialism,” Singh stated that the Samajwadi Party leader frequently alters definitions based on his political needs. He accused Yadav of being disconnected from the public, focusing instead on social media and fabricated stories to stay relevant.
Singh dismissed Yadav’s claims of atrocities against Dalits under the BJP government. He reminded the Samajwadi Party of its own record during its tenure from 2012 to 2017, highlighting that the highest incidents of Dalit oppression occurred during that time. He referenced several incidents, including those at Kannauj Medical College, suggesting that Yadav either forgets or deliberately ignores his administration’s failures.
In response to protests following the announcement of BJP candidates for by-elections in Bihar and Madhya Pradesh, Singh emphasized that ticket distribution is an internal party matter. He stated that every party worker has the right to demand tickets and express their views. The BJP’s internal democratic structure respects the sentiments of its workers and reviews decisions when necessary. He expressed confidence that public support remains with the BJP, and the by-election results will favor the party. Singh acknowledged that protests from supporters after candidate changes are natural and should be seen as part of the democratic process.
Commenting on Maulana Rashidi’s statement linking delayed marriages of girls to incidents of rape, Singh suggested that it reflects personal experience or opinion.
On speculation about early assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Singh assured that all administrative and constitutional processes are proceeding as scheduled. He noted the recent decision to extend the terms of outgoing heads and district panchayat presidents. The final decision on election timing rests with the Election Commission of India, which can consider suggestions from the government and various political parties but holds the authority to announce the election schedule.
Regarding the Ministry of Home Affairs’ advisory on “Vande Mataram” and “Jana Gana Mana,” Singh stated that every decision by the central government aims to strengthen national sentiment. He emphasized that every citizen has a moral obligation to love the land they inhabit, maintain emotional ties to the nation, and contribute to its prosperity and security. This is a duty and responsibility for every Indian.
On Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rising popularity, Singh remarked that Modi has established himself as an influential leader not only in India but globally. The respect and acceptance Modi receives from various countries is a source of pride for every Indian. He noted that the strategic, economic, and trade agreements made during Modi’s foreign visits are reinforcing India’s commitment to development and enhancing its global standing. Singh expressed confidence that India will play an increasingly influential role internationally under Modi’s leadership, establishing new dimensions of development and global partnerships.
