Lucknow, April 14: Akhilesh Yadav, the National President of the Samajwadi Party, addressed the protests by factory workers, stating that if inflation affects daily life, people will certainly raise their voices.
On Tuesday, Yadav visited a Gurudwara in Lucknow to celebrate the festival of Baisakhi. He extended his greetings to citizens across the country, emphasizing the beauty of India’s diverse festivals being celebrated together.
Commenting on the workers’ protests in Noida, Yadav criticized the Chief Minister for lacking knowledge of laws and regulations. He argued that if the government had adhered to labor laws and international labor standards, the current situation could have been avoided. He stressed that if inflation continues to rise and impacts daily life, there will be a need for dialogue and communication. He dismissed the notion that the protests were part of any conspiracy, attributing the unrest to government failures.
Regarding the police’s monitoring of the incidents in Noida, Yadav expressed concern that officials intimidate citizens. He suggested that the Chief Minister aims to instill fear to facilitate injustice. He reminded that the police headquarters was established by socialists, and without it, police might resort to less formal means of communication. He urged the government to improve police infrastructure to ensure justice rather than deteriorating the system.
Yadav also highlighted the destruction of statues of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in 50 districts under the current government, questioning the lack of action taken against such incidents. He criticized the government for allowing such vandalism while seeking votes later.
As the Baisakhi festival is celebrated, Yadav called for unity, respect, and love among communities. He noted that Dr. Ambedkar’s Constitution grants equal rights to all religions. This year marks a significant celebration of Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, with leaders from various political parties coming together, which he believes reflects a collective desire for governance based on the Constitution and laws.
