Raebareli, September 19 (Daily Kiran) : Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav is set to visit Raebareli on September 24. During his visit, he plans to have tea at the home of local MLA Rahul Lodhi and engage in political discussions. It is expected that Yadav will arrive in Raebareli in the party’s newly launched electoral vehicle.
This visit follows a recent incident involving a clash between Samajwadi Party student wing members and the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) at Firoz Gandhi Degree College on September 17. The altercation arose during a membership campaign, leading to heated exchanges and physical confrontations. Local police intervened to restore order.
In the wake of the incident, SP student wing members, along with MLA Lodhi, protested at the SP office, alleging that police used batons to disperse the demonstrators. Lodhi himself faced accusations of being physically assaulted during the incident.
Yadav’s announcement of his visit has stirred political discussions, with many interpreting it as an effort to connect with the Lodhi community, which holds significant electoral weight in Uttar Pradesh. The Lodhi community is estimated to number over one million voters, making this visit a strategic move for the Samajwadi Party.
