Ahmedabad to Soon Feature Modern RTO Office with AI-Based Testing Track

Ahmedabad, May 17: Ahmedabad is set to welcome a new and modern Regional Transport Office (RTO) soon. This new RTO complex is being constructed near Subhash Bridge. The Gujarat government has developed this high-tech facility to provide better services to citizens and reduce processing time for applicants.

Constructed at a cost of approximately ₹62.26 crore, this new building is being developed under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. It replaces the old RTO office and features modern digital and artificial intelligence (AI)-based amenities to simplify transport-related tasks for the public.

According to the government, this fully air-conditioned building spans around 12,787 square meters. It includes a basement, ground floor, and three additional floors. The complex has been designed to accommodate a large number of visitors, featuring a waiting area that can seat about 230 people at once.

Facilities such as lifts and ramps have been installed to assist differently-abled individuals, ensuring they face no difficulties.

A standout feature of this new RTO office is its AI-based automatic testing track, designed for both two-wheeler and four-wheeler vehicles. Officials state that this modern testing system and control room will reduce human intervention in driving license-related tasks. This will save time for citizens and enhance the transparency of the entire process.

The building is also equipped with a modern fire safety system and digital service facilities, aimed at speeding up and increasing the transparency of transport-related application processing.

The government has stated that the new RTO complex is developed to provide citizens with modern amenities and transparent digital services, making life easier for the public.

Previously, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel remarked that cities are not just centers of social and economic activities but also the backbone of economic development. He noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat, directed the development of cities in the state, leading to an improved lifestyle for residents.

This new RTO complex is part of a larger initiative by the state government to promote technology-based government services and modern administrative frameworks. Once operational, residents of Ahmedabad and surrounding areas will benefit from faster and improved transport-related services.
