Ranchi, August 9: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has staged protests in Ranchi against alleged irregularities in competitive examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC). Students are demanding a fair investigation into the paper leak incidents and greater transparency in the recruitment process.
Protesters claim that ongoing controversies surrounding these exams are jeopardizing the futures of thousands of candidates in Jharkhand. They allege that instead of addressing their concerns, the government is attempting to suppress their movement.
An ABVP member stated that students have been protesting at the Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium for nearly 15 days. The organization arrived to support the students but was stopped by police. The activist accused the authorities of diverting attention away from their demands and trying to limit their protests.
Abhinav Yaduvanshi, another ABVP worker, emphasized that the government has had ample time to resolve the issues related to competitive exams, yet no solutions have been provided. He mentioned that students have been consistently protesting against paper leak incidents and other related problems, asserting that their movement is being suppressed. He warned that if the government does not address their demands soon, they will escalate their protests, including a potential siege of the Assembly.
Mukesh, the National Coordinator of CJP, expressed solidarity with the protesting students. He stated that his organization stands with the students protesting against the recurring paper leak incidents and will continue to support their demands until the government takes concrete action.
Regarding police actions during the protests, Inspector Ajay Aryan mentioned that there has been no official inquiry into those detained.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Minister Sanjay Nishad responded to the students’ movement, suggesting that a team should be formed to conduct a thorough investigation whenever such issues arise. He urged all governments to ensure detailed inquiries into related matters.
