Beijing, August 8: Recent data released by China’s National Market Regulation Administration reveals a significant rise in the number of enterprises linked to new industries and emerging sectors during the first half of this year. Notably, the humanoid robot sector alone saw the establishment of 116,000 new ventures, marking a 9.5% increase compared to the same period last year.
In addition to this, the service sector has also made remarkable progress, while rapid changes are observed in the manufacturing sector.
According to the statistics, a total of 561,000 new enterprises were established in China, associated with eight major emerging industries and nine future industries during the first half of this year. This includes 55,000 new ventures in the generative AI sector, reflecting a substantial 28% growth from the previous year.
Moreover, the service sector experienced an increase in the number of new businesses, with 3,957,000 enterprises linked to this sector established in the first half, nearly matching last year’s figures. The wholesale and retail trade sector alone saw the creation of 1,737,000 new enterprises, which is a 2.9% rise compared to last year.
Additionally, the silver economy sector established 31,000 new enterprises. Other notable figures include 1,475,000 in cultural tourism, 322,000 in information broadcasting and software services, 16,000 in testing and inspection services, and 459,000 in technology transfer services.
In the manufacturing sector, 28,000 new enterprises related to high-level equipment manufacturing were established. This includes a 6.4% growth in intelligent equipment manufacturing and a 4.4% increase in urban rail equipment manufacturing. By the end of June, the total number of high-tech manufacturing enterprises in China reached 330,000, which includes 15,000 new enterprises established in the first half.
During this period, significant growth was also recorded in the spacecraft and launch vehicle manufacturing sector at 185.7%, the fiber optics sector at 129.4%, and the integrated circuit manufacturing sector at 24.2%.
