Abducted 11-Year-Old Boy Rescued in Delhi; Suspect Arrested

New Delhi, September 5 (Daily Kiran) : The Delhi police successfully rescued an 11-year-old boy who had been abducted and arrested the alleged kidnapper. This operation took place in the Jahangirpuri area, following a thorough investigation that extended from Ghaziabad to the Azadpur flyover in Delhi.

On August 31, 2026, the Jahangirpuri police received a PCR call reporting that the boy had not returned home after leaving for school. Shortly thereafter, the boy’s mother received a call from an unknown number. The caller identified himself as Dharmapal, a person known to the family, and claimed to have the boy.

Based on the mother’s statement, an FIR was filed under Section 137(2) of the Indian Penal Code at the Jahangirpuri police station, initiating the investigation.

During their inquiries, police discovered that the suspect, Dharmapal, had intentions of marrying the victim’s sister and wanted to live with her. However, the young woman was unwilling to engage in any relationship with him. Consequently, Dharmapal allegedly kidnapped her younger brother and began threatening the family over the phone.

Reports indicate that he warned the family to send the girl to him or he would kill the boy.

Given the seriousness of the situation, Assistant Sub-Inspectors Ashok Kumar and Suraj Bhan were assigned to locate the child. The police team gathered crucial leads through both technical and ground-level investigations regarding the activities of the suspect and the boy.

After persistent efforts, on September 4, police tracked the suspect from Loni to Delhi, successfully rescuing the boy near the Azadpur flyover. Dharmapal, a 26-year-old resident of Tumaria village in Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh, was also apprehended during the operation.

Upon realizing the possibility of arrest, Dharmapal ingested a poisonous substance in an attempt to escape. He was promptly admitted to the Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial Hospital in Delhi for treatment.

The Delhi police stated that the swift recovery of the boy was a result of the effective actions and continuous efforts of the Jahangirpuri police, conducted under the close supervision of the Station House Officer and the Assistant Commissioner of Police.
