Police Raid Uncovers Adulterated Milk Operation in Jamnagar, 1,200 Liters Destroyed

Jamnagar, September 29 (Daily Kiran) : The Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Jamnagar police conducted a significant raid on a residential property in Kalavad on September 29. During this operation, officials destroyed approximately 1,200 liters of suspected adulterated milk, along with 75 kilograms of vegetable ghee and 75 kilograms of milk powder.

The raid was prompted by information received regarding a local milk trader, identified as Kanjibhai, also known as Kano Depalbhai Malani, who was allegedly processing adulterated milk in his home located near the Sheetla Mataji temple in the Kapuria Katha area of Kalavad.

This action was carried out under the directives of Nirlept Rai, the Deputy Inspector General of Police for the Rajkot Division, and Dr. Ravi Mohan Saini, the Superintendent of Police in Jamnagar. They emphasized the need to identify traders involved in food adulteration and initiate legal proceedings against them.

While patrolling the areas under the jurisdiction of Kalavad Town and rural police stations, SOG personnel, including Toshi Bhai Tayani, Ramesh Bhai Chavda, and Firoz Bhai Khafi, received tips about the suspected milk adulteration.

Following this, the police alerted the Food Safety Department, which dispatched officials to the scene. Food safety officers collected necessary samples of the suspicious milk, sealed the premises, and secured the samples for further action.

According to police reports, the food safety officer took measures to destroy the remaining adulterated milk, vegetable ghee, and milk powder in a manner that would not harm human health or the environment.

Legal proceedings against those involved in the milk trade have already been initiated under the applicable regulations.
