Bhopal, February 17: In response to escalating inflation, the Women Congress unit of Madhya Pradesh organized a protest in Bhopal, termed the “Kitchen Parliament.” During this event, Women Congress activists showcased the struggles faced by women by displaying boards featuring Ujjwala gas cylinders and food items.

Led by state president Reena Borasi, the women gathered in front of the state office to set up the Kitchen Parliament. They symbolically sat on the ground with a makeshift stove and empty Ujjwala cylinders. Holding placards depicting the rising prices of vegetables and food items, they chanted slogans.

Reena Borasi stated that the continuous rise in inflation has disrupted the balance of every household’s kitchen. The prices of gas cylinders, cooking oil, and vegetables are becoming unaffordable for average families. While the national budget is being prepared, household budgets are collapsing. The Ujjwala cylinder has become a mere showpiece in many homes, while empty cooking pots demand answers from the government.

She emphasized the struggle of women in feeding their families. The Women Congress demands immediate reduction in gas cylinder prices, regulation of essential food item prices, and concrete measures to provide relief to ordinary families.

The Women Congress has warned that if the government fails to take necessary steps to control inflation, they will expand the Kitchen Parliament campaign throughout the state.
