
Lucknow, June 2: A woman in Lucknow has accused a soldier of abducting her for five years, during which she claims he raped her and pressured her to convert to his religion. Following her complaint, police have arrested the main suspect and are investigating the roles of other individuals involved.
According to police reports, the woman, a resident of the Sairpur area, filed a complaint on May 30 against soldier Manzoor Ali, his brother Kamal, and relative Salman. After receiving the complaint, authorities initiated an investigation and arrested Manzoor Ali on Monday.
The victim stated that she was married in the Sitapur district and returned to her parental home in Sairpur in March 2021. She alleges that during this time, Manzoor Ali, a resident of Mahangukheda in the Lakhimpur Kheri district, abducted her after administering a narcotic substance. Following her abduction, she claims he held her captive at various locations and repeatedly assaulted her.
The woman alleges that Manzoor Ali moved her from one place to another to prevent her from contacting anyone. She also claims he pressured her to convert to his religion, threatening her if she resisted.
According to the FIR, when Manzoor Ali went on duty, he would leave the woman with his brother Kamal and relative Salman. The victim alleges that both men threatened her with death to keep her hidden and prevent her from contacting anyone outside.
Recently, the woman managed to contact her father with the help of a neighbor. Upon receiving the information, her father went to the address provided and brought her back to their home in Sairpur. Subsequently, the family contacted the police to file a formal complaint.
Police officials have stated that due to the seriousness of the case, a thorough investigation is underway. The main suspect has been arrested, and the roles of the other named individuals are also being examined. Legal action will be taken based on the facts and evidence that emerge during the investigation.
