Violence Erupts During Ram Navami Procession in Nawada, Several Injured

Nawada, March 29: Violence broke out during a Ram Navami procession in the Old Market area of the Roh police station in Nawada district on Saturday night. The situation escalated when clashes occurred among some miscreants, leading to stone-pelting and creating a tense atmosphere in the locality.

According to reports, a procession was organized in Roh on the occasion of Ram Navami. The route was set from the Lower Market towards Durga Sthan. As the procession passed through the market, a miscreant threw stones from an alley near Jama Masjid, causing panic among the participants. The local police chief, Rahul Abhishek, attempted to control the situation, but it quickly spiraled out of hand.

Thanks to the quick thinking of the police, the atmosphere calmed down after a while. However, as the procession continued, stone-pelting resumed, injuring several participants. They were promptly taken to the primary health center in Roh for treatment and were later discharged.

In a troubling turn of events, some rioters set fire to a roadside stall, further escalating the situation. The police acted swiftly, calling in the fire department, which arrived on the scene and extinguished the flames.

Upon receiving news of the incident, SDPO Hulas Kumar and other senior officials arrived at the location to assess the situation. They inspected the area and provided necessary directives to restore order.

Authorities are currently questioning local residents and reviewing CCTV footage and other video evidence to identify the culprits involved in the incident. The administration has made it clear that those responsible will face strict action without exception.

Currently, the situation in the area is reported to be normal, but additional police forces have been deployed as a precaution. The administration is urging the public to maintain peace and refrain from spreading rumors.
