New Delhi, September 14 (Daily Kiran) : The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has expressed support for the proposed implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in BJP-ruled states by 2029. Vinod Bansal, the national spokesperson for VHP, emphasized that it is the state’s responsibility to enforce the UCC as outlined in the constitutional directive principles.
Bansal’s comments came in response to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s announcement that the NDA government plans to implement the UCC across 21 states by 2029. He stated, “The constitution mandates the implementation of a Uniform Civil Code, which ensures that citizens are treated equally, without discrimination based on gender, age, or any other basis.” He praised the Uttarakhand government for not only passing the bill but also enforcing it.
As the government aims to complete this initiative before the upcoming elections, Bansal commended the efforts of the government, the Home Minister, and the Prime Minister. He urged non-BJP-ruled states to also take steps toward implementing the UCC, highlighting that citizens in those regions are also facing challenges. He noted, “The people in non-BJP states are also suffering. Discrimination against children and women is prevalent. Unnecessary opposition to the UCC is unwarranted; it should be implemented immediately.”
During the BRICS Summit, Bansal remarked on the positive developments presented, stating that India’s influence and credibility on global welfare were evident. He highlighted the government’s initiative to serve sattvic food, conveying that such meals can be both nutritious and delicious. This move, he believes, sends a strong message about India’s commitment to health and wellness.
