New Delhi, September 14 (Daily Kiran) : Congress MP Pawan Khera recently targeted Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party, calling him a “photocopy” in a pointed critique. In a discussion, Khera questioned why the Congress party would engage in conflict with Kejriwal, stating, “We fight against originals, not photocopies.”
Khera also congratulated the Indian women’s cricket team for their victory in the Women’s Asia Cup. He stressed that this achievement should serve as a lesson for everyone, particularly those who run politics and other sectors in a male-dominated manner. He noted that while women’s victories are celebrated, they often face attempts to push them back afterward. “We must end the tendency to marginalize women; only then can true equality be established in society,” he asserted.
Addressing the Indian women’s cricket team’s decision not to accept the Women’s Asia Cup trophy from Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Mohsin Naqvi, Khera expressed that they acted according to what they felt was right.
On the topic of BRICS, Khera raised several questions, stating that the group’s purpose was to counterbalance the dominance of Western nations. He remarked that since the end of the Cold War in 1991, the idea emerged that no single or dual countries should dominate the world. However, he noted that the group’s developments have primarily favored China.
Khera questioned whether discussions with Iran regarding the Chabahar Port took place. He also asked if the Indian government addressed concerns about China’s settlements in Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh during talks. He pointed out the absence of inquiries about China’s assistance to Pakistan during Operation Sindoor and the lack of mention of Pakistan in the recent Pahalgam terror incident. Furthermore, he questioned whether issues related to the U.S. and Israel’s conflicts with Iran were raised.
Regarding the annual report from the Indian Ministry of Defence, Khera stated that the opposition has continuously sought clarity but has not received satisfactory answers. He inquired whether the Indian Army is currently able to patrol all the locations in the Ladakh region as it did before May 2020, emphasizing that these questions should be addressed either by the ministry’s report or directly by the Defence Minister.
