New Delhi, August 20: Sanjay Nishad, a minister from Uttar Pradesh, has expressed his support for the state government’s recent directives regarding social media. He emphasized that over 70% of news on social media is misleading. According to him, many individuals prioritize increasing their TRP over the well-being of society and the nation.
The Uttar Pradesh government has issued instructions to basic education officers in several districts. These directives include banning unauthorized access by outsiders, YouTubers, and social media influencers in council schools, as well as prohibiting videography.
In a conversation with a news agency, Minister Sanjay Nishad stated, “Social media was created to convey the right message and direction to society. However, it has turned into a platform where over 70% of the news is fake. Misinformation can be generated easily, and correcting a piece of fake news takes considerable time. We believe that misleading propaganda spread through media should not impact children’s minds or the education sector.”
He further noted that individuals who post misleading news are merely trying to boost their TRP. “Such people care neither for society nor for the country. These are all foreign platforms. We are placing our nation’s dignity on foreign platforms. I believe this ban is justified in every way,” he added.
During a CWG meeting, Sanjay Nishad criticized the Congress party regarding the decision to sing two verses of the national anthem, Vande Mataram. He remarked that this character is why the Congress is out of power.
Regarding the High Court‘s questioning of encounters by the Uttar Pradesh police and the transfer of a case to the CBI, Minister Sanjay Nishad stated, “Some cases are indeed suspicious, and when the court has doubts, it takes action.”
He emphasized that everyone should respect court orders. “The court’s role is to examine cases, based on which decisions are made. The truth will certainly come to light,” he concluded.
