Tragic Death of Six-Year-Old in Visakhapatnam School Due to Teachers Assault

Visakhapatnam, August 20: A six-year-old student tragically lost his life after being assaulted by a teacher at a private school in Visakhapatnam on Thursday. Reports indicate that the teacher slapped the child for not completing his homework.

The UKG student, Pranay Tej, was struck and subsequently lost consciousness. He was pronounced dead before reaching the hospital.

This incident occurred at Little Garden School, located in the One Town area of the coastal city. CCTV footage captured the shocking event, which quickly went viral on social media, igniting public outrage.

The child was standing in line in front of the teacher who was checking homework. He pleaded with the teacher not to hit him while crying, but the teacher pulled him closer, adjusted his uniform, and then slapped him. The child fell to the ground.

According to officials, the teacher informed other staff members, who attempted to administer CPR. The school staff then rushed him to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

It is suspected that the child suffered a cardiac arrest due to shock. However, officials stated that the exact cause of death would be determined after a thorough investigation.

The child’s body has been sent for an autopsy at King George Hospital (KGH). Family members gathered at KGH, protesting and demanding justice.

Education Minister Nara Lokesh expressed his condolences on social media platform X, stating it is heartbreaking that a teacher’s assault led to the death of six-year-old Pranay Tej. He assured that legal action would be taken against the responsible parties and the school management.

He wrote, “I extend my deepest sympathies to Pranay Tej’s parents. Stay strong. No compensation can make up for your loss. Our government will stand by you in every way.”

The child’s parents held the teacher accountable for his death, asserting that he was healthy and active when he left for school that morning. They mentioned that the family had returned from a pilgrimage to Tirupati just the day before, which is why he could not complete his homework.

The family alleged that the school management failed to inform them about the incident. They labeled it a murder and demanded strict action against both the teacher and the school management.
