While positive feedback can boost a film’s reach, negative reactions can create challenges for those involved. Filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi recently shared his thoughts on this phenomenon.
In light of discussions surrounding his latest release, “Bantwara 1947,” Santoshi remarked that social media has become a significant part of the film industry.
“Social media has become a major player. It can be quite distressing at times, but we must adapt. There is no alternative; we have to coexist with social media,” he stated.
He emphasized the critical role social media plays in film promotion and marketing. It is essential for disseminating information about films and generating audience interest.
“Bantwara 1947,” which premiered in theaters on August 14, is a period drama featuring prominent actors like Sunny Deol, Shabana Azmi, Preity Zinta, Karan Deol, Ali Fazal, and Abhimanyu Singh.
Reactions on social media regarding the film have emerged, including praise from Mufti Manzoor, chairman of the Islamic Council. He shared a video commending the film’s message of love and humanity. He highlighted the sensitive portrayal of a mother’s love and stressed the importance of spreading messages of love in times dominated by hate.
Mufti Manzoor also praised the performances of the cast, calling the acting of Sunny Deol, Shabana Azmi, Preity Zinta, Karan Deol, Ali Fazal, and Abhimanyu Singh outstanding.
“Bantwara 1947” is believed to be inspired by Asgar Wajahat’s acclaimed play, “Jis Lahore Nai Dekhya, O Jamya E Nai.”
