Lucknow, August 21: A significant day is set to unfold as Uttar Pradesh seeks to elevate its relationship with Japan. On the third day of the Japanese delegation’s visit, extensive discussions will take place in Lucknow, focusing on investment, industry, education, tourism, health, MSMEs, and women’s empowerment.
The day will commence with a courtesy meeting between the Japanese delegation and the Governor and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Four sectoral sessions at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan will be the main attractions of the event. The Chief Minister will address the concluding session.
The Uttar Pradesh government has organized a series of programs throughout the day to showcase the state’s industrial capabilities, investment potential, and opportunities across various sectors. Notably, the discussions will not be limited to formal meetings but will aim to lay the groundwork for long-term economic and institutional partnerships between Japan and Uttar Pradesh.
On Friday morning, the Japanese delegation will visit the Raj Bhavan for a courtesy meeting with the Governor. Following this, a meeting with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at his official residence is scheduled. These meetings will facilitate high-level dialogue on mutual relations, investment, and collaboration opportunities. The delegation will then participate in various sectoral programs throughout the day.
A visit to Atal School in Mohanlalganj by 15 students from Japan is also a key highlight of the day. Accompanied by officials from Invest UP, this visit will provide Japanese youth with insights into Uttar Pradesh’s education system and the modern educational models being developed in the state.
Special programs are arranged for 15 female representatives from Japan. After a meeting with the Minister of Women and Child Welfare, the delegation will visit the 1090 Women Helpline in Lucknow. Here, the ADG will present a briefing on women’s safety and the helpline’s operations. This program will serve as a significant opportunity to share experiences between the two countries in the field of women’s safety and technology-based support systems.
At the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, an exhibition and ODOP Experience Center will introduce Japanese guests to Uttar Pradesh’s industrial and cultural strengths. Stalls related to UP NEDA, tourism, education, Invest UP, labor, IT and startups, ODOP, and skill development will be showcased. Additionally, Japanese companies and major institutions like AKTU, IIT BHU, and IIT Kanpur will present their capabilities and potential. This will provide Japanese representatives with a comprehensive view of Uttar Pradesh’s products, technology, education, startups, and investment opportunities.
Four parallel sectoral sessions will be held at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, focusing on various dimensions of the Uttar Pradesh-Japan partnership. The “From Gate to Global Plate” session will discuss connecting the agriculture and food processing sector to the global market and explore possibilities for Japanese collaboration. The Japanese Tourism session will brainstorm cooperation in the tourism sector and opportunities for tourist exchanges. The UP Japan Healthcare and Care Economy Partnership session will seek new opportunities in health and care economy partnerships. Meanwhile, the Japan-UP MSME Partnership Forum will discuss synergies between Uttar Pradesh’s vast MSME network and Japanese technology, investment, and expertise. These sessions are particularly significant as they will develop a roadmap for advancing potential investments and business partnerships by sector.
A meeting for MoU exchange is also proposed in the assembly during the day. Thus, the Japanese delegation’s visit to Lucknow will not only focus on dialogue and investment discussions but will also advance institutional partnerships through potential agreements. In the afternoon, a meeting between Uttar Pradesh’s Energy Minister and the Governor of Yamanashi Prefecture is also scheduled, deemed crucial for potential collaboration in the energy sector.
In the afternoon, a cultural program will be presented by Rang Bharati. Later, a valedictory session will take place in the Jupiter Hall of Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, addressed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Ministers from the state government, senior officials, and representatives from industry organizations will also be present. This session will serve as an important platform to present the conclusions of the entire event and to set the direction for future partnerships between Uttar Pradesh and Japan. Following this, a networking high tea will provide an informal dialogue opportunity for Japanese representatives, government officials, and industry leaders. The day will conclude with a dinner at the Chief Minister’s residence, wrapping up the day’s extensive programs.
