Mumbai, June 7: Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed confidence that the Mahayuti alliance will secure all 17 seats in the upcoming Legislative Council elections. He noted that six candidates have already been elected unopposed.
Shinde emphasized the strength of the party, stating that it is poised to advance rapidly. He dismissed the ongoing accusations from the Maha Vikas Aghadi, asserting that none of their candidates will be elected, as the majority of the public supports the Mahayuti alliance. He highlighted that a candidate from Congress has withdrawn their nomination, allowing Dushyant Chaturvedi to win unopposed.
On June 10, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi prepares to become the longest-serving Prime Minister of India, Shinde remarked that while the nation strives for progress and Modi represents India globally, the country is emerging as a global power. He noted that this progress seems to trouble the opposition, who frequently target Modi with accusations whenever the nation achieves success.
Shinde pointed out that since 2014, Modi has worked tirelessly for the country without taking a single day off, which seems to frustrate the opposition. He stated that whenever accusations arise, the 1.4 billion people of India stand by Modi. He questioned the current state of Congress in West Bengal and Assam, asserting that despite their accusations, the public continues to support Modi. He concluded that any tactics employed by the opposition will ultimately fail.
