
Tel Aviv, June 7: A shooting incident near Kochav Ya’ir in central Israel has raised security concerns across the nation. One person has been confirmed dead, while five others are reported injured, with one in critical condition.
According to Israeli emergency services, Magen David Adom, the injured are receiving treatment at various nearby locations. Some victims were found near Tzur Yitzhak and Tzur Natan, with one individual reportedly unconscious.
Following the incident, security forces cordoned off the area and initiated a comprehensive search operation. The military and police reported that the attackers struck at multiple locations, causing widespread panic. Subsequently, security forces identified and engaged suspected terrorists.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reviewed the situation immediately after the attack and instructed to keep a close watch on the developments. The Prime Minister’s office confirmed that he is in constant contact with security agencies.
Initial investigations revealed that one of the suspects involved in the attack was neutralized on-site, while another was killed later during a confrontation. Security sources indicated that the attackers used a vehicle, reportedly bearing Israeli license plates.
The military has reported that surrounding Palestinian villages have been sealed off, and crossings near the West Bank border have been shut down. Additional security forces have been deployed throughout the area, and the search operation is ongoing.
