New Delhi, June 16: In a significant development in the NEET paper leak case, Yash Yadav, who was arrested, has been granted permission by the Rouse Avenue Court to take the NEET UG exam and attend his sister’s wedding. The NEET UG exam is scheduled for June 21. The court’s order states that Yash Yadav will be sent to police custody on the day of the exam and for his sister’s wedding.
Yash Yadav had requested interim bail from the court to participate in the rescheduled NEET UG exam and to attend his sister’s wedding.
Earlier, on June 15, a Delhi court extended the judicial custody of ten accused in the NEET UG paper leak case until June 29. The investigation is being conducted by the CBI.
Upon the expiration of the accused’s judicial custody, they were presented via video conferencing from Tihar Jail to the Rouse Avenue Court. The court has extended the judicial custody of Yash Yadav, Mangilal Bival, Dinesh Bival, Vikas Bival, Dhananjay Lokhande, Tejas Harshad Shah, Shubham Khairnar, Manisha Waghmare, Manisha Sanjay Hawaldar, and Dr. Manoj Shirure until June 29.
The Rouse Avenue Court has also allowed the CBI to interrogate three accused—Shubham Khairnar, Manisha Waghmare, and Dhananjay Lokhande—inside the jail on June 17, 18, and 19. The agency has been granted permission to question each accused for one hour as part of the ongoing investigation into the alleged exam paper leak.
So far, the CBI has arrested 13 individuals in connection with this case and is investigating a suspected network involved in obtaining and distributing the NEET UG question paper before the exam.
On June 1, the Rouse Avenue Court had sent accused Dr. Manoj Shirure, Tejas Harshadkumar Shah, and Manisha Sanjay Hawaldar into judicial custody until June 15. The central agency alleges that Dr. Shirure from Latur played a crucial role in helping three students, including the son of an accused coaching center owner, obtain chemistry questions from the alleged mastermind, P.V. Kulkarni, prior to the exam.
