PM Modi Engages with Global Leaders Ahead of G7 Summit Family Photo

Evian, June 16: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was seen engaging with leaders from various countries during the official family photo at the G7 Summit.

Sharing moments from his meetings on the social media platform ‘X’, PM Modi wrote, “This afternoon, before the G7 Summit meeting in Evian, exchanging ideas with G7 leaders is always beneficial.”

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stated, “All leaders, including Prime Minister Modi, gathered for the family photo at the 52nd G7 Summit held in Evian, France. This is another step towards addressing global challenges and promoting development for all.”

PM Modi expressed gratitude to French President Emmanuel Macron for welcoming him to the summit. The two leaders met before the outreach session, greeting each other warmly.

On social media, PM Modi noted, “Thank you, my friend President Macron, for the warm welcome in Evian.”

According to the MEA, both leaders continued their positive bilateral discussions from their recent meeting in Nice, now advancing their dialogue on a multilateral platform.

During the outreach session of the G7 Summit, PM Modi also had a brief interaction with U.S. President Donald Trump, where they exchanged greetings. They shook hands and engaged in a short conversation before the working session focused on “building new partnerships and reinforcing international solidarity.” This session will include G7 countries, partner nations, the World Bank, and the African Development Bank.

PM Modi and President Trump are scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting on Wednesday, discussing various issues related to economic development, supply chains, artificial intelligence (AI), investment partnerships, and global security. This will mark their first bilateral meeting since the successful ‘Operation Sindoor’ against Pakistan last year.

The White House announced that their meeting would take place before a working lunch with G7 leaders, outreach partners, and technology company officials.

Upon arriving in Evian, PM Modi expressed excitement about meeting world leaders and sharing insights on critical global issues. He is attending the summit at the invitation of President Macron. This year marks India’s 13th participation in the G7, with PM Modi attending for the seventh consecutive time.
