Government Must Take Education Issues Seriously: Mritunjay Tiwari

Patna, June 16: RJD leader Mritunjay Tiwari has voiced his support for Tejashwi Yadav’s demand for a CBI investigation into the coaching controversy while addressing several pressing issues.

In a conversation with a news agency, Tiwari emphasized the need for an impartial investigation into the coaching scandal, insisting that the truth must prevail. He pointed out that the Bihar government has a history of shielding the guilty while implicating the innocent. Tiwari urged the government to establish a fair system, stressing that it should take education—an essential issue—seriously.

He remarked that progress can only be achieved when education and values coexist. Tiwari questioned who is protecting the education mafia and called on the government to intervene and deliver justice.

Regarding Rahul Gandhi’s upcoming visit to Patna, Tiwari stated that there is no issue with Gandhi meeting students. He commented on the ongoing paper leak incidents, noting that examination papers are being compromised across the board. As the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi is expected to engage with students about their concerns. Tiwari mentioned that the opposition is actively working to hold the government accountable.

On the Enforcement Directorate’s actions in Bengal, he criticized them as being driven by vindictiveness, asserting that such behavior is unacceptable in a democracy. He reminded that power is transient and that the BJP will not remain in power indefinitely.

Tiwari also addressed the situation of 20 rebel TMC MPs, stating that they will ultimately be judged by the public. He highlighted that these MPs have won their seats on the basis of Mamata Banerjee’s support and questioned how they would face their constituents in the future. He accused the BJP of intimidating opposition MPs to weaken them and cautioned regional parties allied with the NDA to remain vigilant.

Concerning the withdrawal of security for Lalu Prasad Yadav’s family, Tiwari noted that this reflects the Bihar government’s double standards. He asserted that in a democracy, the safety of the public is paramount.
