Ujjain, September 10 (Daily Kiran) : Former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and senior BJP leader Uma Bharti has reached out to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav regarding the renowned Standing Hanuman Temple in Ujjain. In her letter, she urged the Chief Minister to devise a solution that balances development with the respect for faith.
Bharti emphasized that as a resident of Ujjain, Yadav understands the significance of the city and its religious sites better than anyone else. She expressed confidence that he is already contemplating a resolution for the Standing Hanuman Temple.
Referencing a past example from Bhopal, she highlighted how religious sites were preserved during development projects. Bharti recalled that during the widening of roads in front of Kamalapati Park under Shivraj Singh’s government, a nearby mosque was untouched, demonstrating a commitment to harmonizing development with faith. She suggested that a similar approach could be adopted for the Standing Hanuman Temple in Ujjain.
The discussion around the temple has gained traction as part of broader development plans for Ujjain, including road widening and other construction projects. Concerns have been raised about the potential removal or alteration of the temple, which holds deep significance for the local community.
Bharti’s statement comes at a time when there is an ongoing debate about balancing development with the preservation of religious heritage in Ujjain.
