Khuzdar, September 11 (Daily Kiran) : In Khuzdar, Balochistan, a raid by Pakistan’s Frontier Corps (FC) has reportedly resulted in the deaths of four civilians and left several others injured. Local media reported that the incident occurred during a nighttime operation on September 11 at the home of Aziz Yar Muhammad Garganari.
Witnesses say the FC opened fire during the raid, leading to the fatalities. Among the injured were women and children, further escalating tensions in the area. Following the incident, residents took to the streets, blocking the Quetta-Karachi highway in protest.
The Baloch Voice for Justice (BVJ) condemned the actions of the military, calling for an independent and transparent investigation into the killings of civilians in populated areas. The organization accused the state of employing a policy of violence, collective punishment, and systematic oppression against Baloch citizens.
Sabiha Baloch, leader of the Baloch Unity Committee (BYC), also criticized the raid, emphasizing its severe impact on local communities, particularly children. She highlighted on social media that extrajudicial killings, injuries, enforced disappearances, and collective punishment have become frequent occurrences during military operations in Balochistan.
The incident follows a recent attack in the Mastung district, where heavy shelling by the FC reportedly killed four people, including children. Reports indicated that multiple shells landed on the home of Abdul Jalil Sarparah, resulting in the deaths of his mother and two daughters, while a critically injured six-year-old girl later succumbed to her injuries in the hospital.
The BVJ has urged the international community to ensure the safety of civilians in Balochistan and to hold Pakistan accountable for these ongoing violations.
