Sidhi, September 12 (Daily Kiran) : During a visit to Sidhi district, Madhya Pradesh’s Minister Dilip Jayaswal convened a crucial review meeting with district officials. The meeting focused on the severe conditions caused by recent heavy rainfall, assessing the damage across various sectors and the ongoing relief efforts for affected residents.
Minister Jayaswal instructed officials to conduct ground-level surveys to identify those impacted by the rain and ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive immediate assistance in accordance with government provisions.
He noted that the continuous rainfall has damaged roads in several areas, affected bridges, and impacted numerous homes. Reports also indicated that one individual lost their life due to rain-related incidents. The government’s priority, he emphasized, is to deliver prompt relief to the affected families.
The meeting included discussions on evaluating the damage to roads, bridges, homes, and other infrastructure, as well as the progress of repair work. Jayaswal directed officials to prioritize repairs in areas where roads and bridges have been compromised, aiming to restore transportation routes disrupted by the rain.
He reaffirmed that both the government and administration are working together to address the damage caused by this natural disaster. Any negligence in relief and reconstruction efforts will not be tolerated. He assured that if the available budget falls short, additional funds will be arranged to ensure that financial constraints do not hinder relief efforts for those affected.
Before the review meeting, Minister Jayaswal inaugurated a newly renovated meeting hall at the Collectorate by cutting a ribbon. He later held the review meeting in this new hall, assessing its arrangements and available facilities.
He remarked that the renovated meeting hall is significantly better and more convenient than before, and expressed satisfaction with the experience of meeting officials in the new space. He commended the district administration for recognizing the importance of adequate infrastructure for effective governance.
In conclusion, the minister emphasized the need for swift action on three fronts: assessing rain damage, providing relief to affected families, and repairing damaged infrastructure.
