Udit Raj Criticizes U.S. Oil Import Waiver for India, Claims Trump is Now in Charge

New Delhi, March 6: Congress leader Udit Raj has sharply criticized the Indian government regarding the limited waiver granted by the United States for oil imports from Russia. He stated that the current situation clearly indicates that the country’s leaders are now under the influence of U.S. President Donald Trump.

According to Udit Raj, the decision on when and from whom India should purchase oil is now being dictated by the United States. He described this as a significant attack on the sovereignty of the nation, asserting that such circumstances are entirely unacceptable.

Additionally, Udit Raj expressed his discontent over the resignation of the West Bengal Governor and the nomination of Nitish Kumar to the Rajya Sabha. He remarked that democracy has now become merely a name. He noted that a popular Chief Minister like Nitish Kumar was compelled to accept a Rajya Sabha position under pressure. He emphasized that if the BJP can remove a prominent leader like Nitish Kumar from his chief ministerial role, securing a resignation from any governor is trivial.

Udit Raj also claimed to have received information indicating that the central government directly inquired, “When are you resigning?” He stated that the entire episode unfolded suddenly. He refuted claims suggesting that discussions regarding this matter had occurred during the assembly elections. Udit Raj argued that there is no clear political rationale behind this decision, and the entire process contradicts democratic values. He insisted that it was not merely a matter of numbers or power but part of a strategy involving political pressure and deals.

Furthermore, Udit Raj referenced the political status of the Janata Dal (United), stating that it has been a significant party but was weakened in the 2020 assembly elections due to Chirag Paswan. He alleged that Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janashakti Party contested in constituencies where JD(U) candidates were running. Moreover, the BJP also fielded its candidates in those areas. Udit Raj accused the BJP of orchestrating a major political maneuver in the last elections, initially forming an alliance with JD(U) and then creating a political rebellion by fielding strong candidates from Chirag Paswan’s party against them.
