Udaipur, October 18 (Daily Kiran): In a joint operation against illegal drug trafficking, the District Special Team (DST) and Savina Police in Udaipur seized 8.288 kilograms of ganja and arrested two accused involved in its transportation. The police also confiscated the motorcycle used in the smuggling.

According to Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal, the action was carried out under the ongoing anti-narcotics campaign led by Additional SP (City) Umesh Ojha and Circle Officer (East) Chhagan Purohit, under the supervision of SHO Ajay Singh Raw of Savina Police Station along with the District Special Team.
The arrested accused have been identified as Ratan Singh, son of Nathulal, resident of Tekan village, Police Station Koon, District Salumber, and Govind Kumar, son of Limbaram, resident of Pemla Kui village, Police Station Bhinder, District Udaipur.
Police recovered 8.288 kg of illegal ganja, estimated to be worth around ₹2 lakh in the international market, along with the motorcycle used for transportation.
The accused were found in possession of the narcotic substance, which constitutes an offence under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act. Accordingly, case number 419/2025 has been registered under the NDPS Act, and both have been taken into police custody.
Authorities are now investigating to determine how long the accused have been involved in the trade and to identify other accomplices connected to the network.
