Lucknow, August 31: In a significant development in the murder case of Dheerendra Pratap Singh, the president of Maharana Pratap Charitable Trust, police have arrested two suspects. Singh, aged 45, was murdered in the Sushant Golf City area of Uttar Pradesh’s capital, Lucknow.
Investigations revealed that Singh’s driver, Ravi Kishan, orchestrated the murder. According to police reports, the suspects drugged Singh while he was in a moving vehicle, rendering him unconscious before shooting him twice. After the murder, they disposed of his body in a secluded area to avoid suspicion. Following the crime, the accused abandoned Singh’s vehicle near Medanta Hospital and fled the scene.
Joint Police Commissioner of Law and Order, Babloo Kumar, stated that the police received information about a body lying by the roadside. Upon arriving at the scene, the police team reported the kidnapping of Dheerendra Singh, a resident of Unnao. Given the seriousness of the incident, a case was promptly registered, and six teams were formed by the DCP South to uncover the details and apprehend the suspects.
The DCP South’s team successfully identified and arrested the two suspects involved in the incident. Both have confessed to their crime, and their guidance led to the recovery of the body.
The investigation also revealed that Singh possessed two mobile phones. To mislead the police, the suspects placed one phone on a train, causing its location to change continuously and confuse the authorities. When police traced the phone’s location, it was initially found in the areas of Gosai Ganj, Haidarganj, and Jagdishpur in Amethi, with the last known location in Chandauli.
The vehicle involved in the crime has been recovered, and the post-mortem process for the deceased is currently underway. Preliminary investigations suggest that a land dispute may have motivated the crime.
Additional names of other suspects have emerged, and teams have been formed to apprehend them. Under the leadership of the DCP South, further action will be taken to investigate all aspects of the case rigorously.
