Satya Niketan, New Delhi, September 6 (Daily Kiran) : A five-story building in the Satya Niketan area near Delhi University’s South Campus collapsed suddenly on Sunday afternoon. Authorities fear that many individuals may be trapped under the debris. Union Education Minister Prakash Javadekar expressed deep sorrow over the incident.
Javadekar stated that he was extremely saddened by the news of the private building’s collapse. He mentioned that he had spoken with Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who assured him that she was closely monitoring the situation and that all necessary rescue and relief measures were being implemented swiftly.
The minister offered prayers for the safety of those trapped and wished for the swift recovery of the injured. Reports indicate that the building housed paying guest accommodations for Delhi University students. Emergency services, including Delhi Police, the Delhi Fire Service, and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), were quick to respond to the scene.
